How to get to Perhentian island from Kuala Lumpur

Get to Perhentian island by Bus

1- Go to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) bus terminal

2- From the TBS, buy a bus ticket route to the Kuala Besut. The fare is around RM45 per way which take about 6-7 hours to Kuala Besut Bus Terminal. It is advise to take night bus as this trip take a long journey. 

3- After you arrived at the Kuala Besut bus terminal walk about 10 -15 minutes to the Kuala Besut jetty. Please use maps or ask the local for the direction to the Kuala Besut jetty. 

4- Buy a boat ticket to Perhentian island (Price about RM70 for return boat). The journey to the Perhentian island take about 40 minutes.

Get to Perhentian island by Flight

1- Buy a flight ticket route from KLIA/KLIA2 to Kota Bharu (Sultan Ismail Petra airport). The journey take about 45 minutes. 

2- From airport take taxi to Kuala Besut jetty (the journey about 1 hour)

3- Buy a boat ticket to Perhentian island (Price about RM70 for return boat). The journey to the Perhentian island take about 40 minutes. 

Get to Perhentian island by train

1- Go to KL Sentral
2- Buy a train ticket to Wakaf Baru
3- From Wakaf Baru take a bus to Kota Bharu then continue to the Kuala Besut Jetty or take a taxi direct to Kuala Besut jetty.
4- Buy a boat ticket to Perhentian island (Price about RM70 for return boat). The journey to the Perhentian island take about 40 minutes.

Get to Perhentian island by Self drive

1- For the self drive you can use maps on your mobile phone for the direction. Normally you will use Karak highway and East Coast Expressway.
2- After you arrived at the Kuala Besut, park your car there.
3- Buy a boat ticket to Perhentian island (Price about RM70 for return boat). The journey to the Perhentian island take about 40 minutes.
